Sound!


Hey fellow cultists! Liz again. Today ill be talking about the sound we are using for Stay Hidden. I'll talk about both music and SFX that will be used in the game and how we have procured them. Firstly, let's talk about the music. For the music we are wanting gloomy 8 bit music. There will be a song for each level (5) that get progressively more intense, plus a song for the menus and credits. So far we are using royalty free tunes from zapsplat.com as placeholders to test how to implement the music while we are creating songs for the levels. 

 Speaking of creating songs, how do we do it? I have been using the website beepbox.com to create the songs. It’s a simple software that is easy to use and navigate. You just press the chords you want to play, and it will loop the bar for you! 

 Now for the SFX. We are using SFX sourced from Zapsplat.com. We are just using SFX for environmental props like doors, levers, crates and items. We are also sourcing SFX for the Player’s and NPC’s footsteps, patrolling types, special abilities, taking damage and giving damage. 

 We are still in the early stages of development when it comes to sound, so we will keep you updated with more music we create!
