About The Munchers!
Hello our beloved cultists! We as the Chalk Munchers are some colourful individuals, and we thought it was about time that we introduced ourselves. We will briefly talk about what our role is in our team, and some fun things about ourselves. See if you can relate! We assigned ourselves into these roles, but it doesn't mean we are limited to them. For example, the Art lead can do tech works, and the Marketing lead can to art works. We work as a team and balance each other, like chalks on a sidewalk, painting a beautiful mural with our colours.
Here below our little introductions, and we have prepared some custom fun portraits for you guys because we love you and you deserve to be loved!
Liz - Producer Lead/ Marketing Lead:
Name: Liz O’Connor
role: Producer/Marketing Lead
role description:
Hey there! I’m Liz. I am the Producer and Marketing Lead for the Stay Hidden Project. I am the one who facilitates all of our Devlogs on our Itch Page and gathers and creates all of our marketing material like our press kit and Instagram account. As a Producer, I also make sure all of our ducks are in a row and that we are on target with our development timeline!
Interesting facts / Interests:
Since I'm always sitting at a desk on my computer, I love getting out in nature and going for hikes, and painting the world around us!
Experience:
I am in my 3rd year of my Games Art and Design Bachelor Degree at Murdoch University but I also spent a year getting my Diploma in Games Development at SAE Quantum Institute. I mainly specialise in 3D modelling and 3D animation, so for Stay Hidden, I am taking more of a management and marketing role as I am quite strong in these areas.
Andy - Design Lead
Name: Andy Lee
Role: Design Lead
Role description:
Hi, I'm Andy; as a design lead, my role is to maintain the game design's coherence and ensure it aligns with our design pillars and stays true to our vision of the game. I am also in charge of maintaining and updating the wiki page.
Interesting facts / Interests:
I love being in the creative field; the one thing I love drawing is monsters and creatures. I also love food... I mean, who doesn't? When I have free time, I like to go out to a café and sit there for hours drawing while taking up space and stopping other customers from having a table.
Experience:
Being the oldest in the class and older than some of my lecturers, I have had much life experience. I have a Bachelor of 3D and Spatial Design degree; I worked as an interior designer, graphic designer, and photographer and am currently working at a primary school as a Special Needs Education Assistant. I am, of course, studying Games Art and Design at Murdoch and am in my final year.
Yin - Art Lead
Name: Yingting Sun
Role: Art lead
Role description:
Hello I am Yin, the art lead in this project. My job is to produce art of a consistent quality and style for the game. I help design, create sprites, colour and animate the visuals in this game. I also have to guide others if they are helping with the visuals, to keep it looking consistent and amazing.
Interesting facts / Interests:
I am eager to start and draw a manga focusing on the idea of death and acceptance, a topic most people would shy away from. I want to help people get comfortable with the idea of the cycle of life, and take away the fear of death and lessen the pain in loss. As you can tell, I am very interested in the cycle of life. But I absolutely love nature and all living things, flora and fauna, sentient and non sentient.
Experience:
Third year studying Games Art and Design at Murdoch University, dabbled in most art forms such as Digital Painting, Concept art, 3D modelling, Animation (2D and 3D). I specialise in 2D art, especially Digital art and character design. I am also an avid story writer who loves to write crazy lore.
Cayden - Tech Lead / Test Lead
Name: Cayden Jessen
Role: Tech Lead and Test Lead
Role Description:
Hi I’m Cayden! I am the Tech and Test lead for Stay Hidden. As a tech lead, I am actively involved with the coding and scripting of the game and problems that arise. It is then my job to research and help resolve these issues. It is my role to maintain the game repository and to ensure the unity project is neat and easy to work in. As a test lead, my role includes communicating with my team about bugs and issues and managing the reports on GitHub. By doing so I’m ensuring that the team is creating these reports to an acceptable standard. This also includes creating surveys and questionnaires for playtesters.
Interesting facts/interests:
When I am not working or playing games, I enjoy watching and playing football (soccer).
Experience:
I am currently in the third year of my Games Art and Design degree at Murdoch University. I had previously studied Computer Science and Game Technology for 2 years before changing to Games Art. I enjoy coding as well as 3D modeling and animation.
